Answer

Yes , many A4I customers are using new ProgRes® cameras, working via the TWAIN interface.

The setup is easy and straight forward. A4I software allows for multiple input devices it calls "grabbers".

In the software's Project Manager window, select EXTRAS/IMAGES SOURCES from the menu bar.

In the resulting dialog box, click on the DEVICES button. A "ADD DEVICE" dialog box opens. Select "TWAIN Grabber" and click "ADD".

Give the ProgRes camera a name (e.g. CFscan) and complete the dialog box queries. Once this is done, the ProgRes camera has become a new digital camera and the interface with A4I is seamless.

The ProgRes camera can be calibrated in any or all capture modes and the user can be prompted to confirm magnification and resolution upon capture.

Note: The A4I software cannot handle a 12 or 14 bit image so set the default capture setting in the ProgRes capture software's TWAIN interface to 8 bit.
