Refractive and Diffractive Microoptic Solutions

Custom optics provided for NASA's LOLA

Sister companies JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc. (Jupiter, FL) and MEMS Optical (Huntsville, AL) both supplied optics for NASA’s Lunar Orbiter Laser Altimeter (LOLA).

JENOPTIK Optical Systems initiates LEAN Manufacturing

JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc. recently completed the initial Value Stream Mapping phase of an implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles in the Jupiter facility.

The 3 day event utilized eight participants from different areas of the organization to identify the current and desired states of the company and the non-value efforts that reduce efficiency. Value Stream Mapping is the 2nd of four formal phases planned.

JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc. formed by merger of leading optics companies

Coastal Optical Systems (Jupiter, FL) and Liebmann Optical Company (Easthampton, MA) are pleased to announce effective July 1st, 2009 these JENOPTIK subsidiaries have merged to form JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc.

The strength of the new company (70,000 square feet of optical manufacturing, 100 employees) and breadth of the product offerings elevate JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc. to best in class in North America.

Hardware Investment Results in Significant Expansion of Optical Design and Analysis Capabilities

ones_zerosCoastal Optical Systems’ business is delivery of optically tested assemblies and sub assemblies. Success often depends on comprehensive tolerance analysis and the ability to tweak designs for the realities of fabrication.

To take full advantage of the design and analytical tools available and strengthen our in-house capabilities, Coastal recently invested in an eight (8) CPU “bleeding edge” server for optical simulation and the initial results have been quite startling.

CoastalOpt® UV-VIS-IR lens images the Dead Sea Scrolls

Working with the Israeli Antiquities Authority, Dr. Greg Bearman (www.snapshotspectra.com) has used the CoastalOpt® UV-VIS-IR 60 mm lens for imaging of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

The work, performed in August, is part of a technology qualification for digitizing the scrolls. High resolution visible and IR images will allow for precise detection of deterioration and allow researchers worldwide to view the Scrolls electronically.

See first fully corrected lens for the UV-VIS-NIR at Photokina

Come see the new CoastalOpt® 60mm UV-VIS-IR 1:4 Apo Macro lens at Photokina 2008 September 23-28.

Visit us under the bright lights in Köln, Germany. Coastal is exhibiting the lens with sister company Sinar in Hall 4.2 Exhibit C021.

First fully Corrected lens for the UV-VIS-NIR Spectrum Introduced

Jupiter, FL – Coastal Optical Systems Inc. is pleased to introduce the new CoastalOpt® 60mm UV-VIS-IR 1:4 Apo Macro lens.

CoastalOpt_UV_IR_60s2.jpgA first in optical design, the 60mm UV-VIS-IR 1:4 Apo Macro provides full apochromatic correction over an extraordinarily broad waveband ranging from the onset of atmospheric ultraviolet transparency at 315nm to the limit of CCD/CMOS sensitivity at 1100nm in the infrared.

Coastal Optical Systems Expands into New Facility

Coastal Optical Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce its expansion and relocation to:

16490 Innovation Drive, Jupiter, FL 33478

This move doubles our facility from 19,000 to 38,000 square feet.
