The individual in this position will be responsible for all JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc. optical component sales and business development activities in Southern California, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas.

He/she will interface with customers, engineering, manufacturing and other JENOPTIK sales groups to manage customer relationships and quoting activity.  This individual will also develop strategic plans to optimize the sales potential for new and key accounts.   They must be knowledgeable about the Optics and Photonics industry. This position is located in California, and will report directly to the JENOPTIK Optical Systems General Manager in Easthampton, MA.

Responsibilities

This individual will develop key accounts, OEM sales and marketing plans to support growth of the optical components group. 

He/she will also coordinate all activities relating to the development and execution of sales forecasts, quoting, tradeshows, contracts, sales budget and related processes.  This individual will also closely coordinate the sales group efforts with other corporate operationsincluding engineering, program management and manufacturing.  This role requires the ability to work in a matrix environment and to operate as a team player. He/she will assess and provide regular feedback and reporting on future opportunities to the corporation as awhole. Lastly, this individual must possess sound business judgment, the ability to achieve goals withminimum supervision and provide leadership that extends beyond his/her direct responsibilities. 

JENOPTIK Optical Systems Inc. is looking to hire a Quality Manager - Microoptics in our Huntsville, AL facility.

Job Description

• ISO Manager, reports to top management on QMS performance and continuous improvement
• Maintain QMS documentation and perform inspection and analysis to ensure conformance to current ISO9001:2008 standard and any other applicable regulatory standards
• Promote Quality awareness and customer requirements throughout organization, work closely with customers’ quality representatives to meet the contract requirements for quality, inspection, and certification.
• Maintain Quality tools and metrics for verifying, validating, and reporting.
• Coordinate CPAR, NCR processes, test and calibration,  and follow up for continual improvement
• Schedule and conduct internal quality audits and qualification of approved suppliers.
• Maintain tracking of supplier on-time delivery and non-conformances required through the year.
• Initiate projects and programs that promote continuous improvement in quality and productivity.
• Certification of the overall quality of products produced.
• Supervise incoming inspection of materials (optical materials, metals, chemicals).

Requirements

JENOPTIK Optical Systems has an opening for a Optical Engineer in our Jupiter, FL facility.  This facility specializes in delivering custom precision optical systems and aspheric optics.

The position requires 50% working in the laboratory on system performance evaluation and 50% analysis working with a team of mechanical engineers, optical engineers and software consultants.

Responsibilities of the position include (but are not limited to):

• Optical Design, optical modeling, sensitivity analysis and tolerance analysis in ZEMAX® and other optical design codes
• Working on projects from conceptual stage to delivery of the electro-optical product
• Develop designs and products to meet customer specifications and needs
• Present these designs to the customer (write optical design reports and presentations)
• Hands-on lab work developing new optical performance tests
• Use Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor, MTF test equipment, interferometric testing, power meters and distortions testers to evaluate complex camera lenses and projection lenses.
• Support proposal efforts and assist in the development of new business.
• Support manufacturing
• Developing test plans and acceptance test approaches for complex optical assemblies.
• Train technicians in the test approach

Job Description

To set-up and polish spherical glass lenses using CNC technologies to customer print requirements while meeting company production schedules and customer ship dates.

Skills Required

Blue print reading and use of measuring equipment (i.e. dial indicators, calipers, optical testplates, interferometers).

Math skills are required (i.e. basic geometry). Ability to read and write is required to fill out documentation.
