The individual in this position will be responsible for all JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc. optical component sales and business development activities in Southern California, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas.
He/she will interface with customers, engineering, manufacturing and other JENOPTIK sales groups to manage customer relationships and quoting activity. This individual will also develop strategic plans to optimize the sales potential for new and key accounts. They must be knowledgeable about the Optics and Photonics industry. This position is located in California, and will report directly to the JENOPTIK Optical Systems General Manager in Easthampton, MA.
Responsibilities
This individual will develop key accounts, OEM sales and marketing plans to support growth of the optical components group.
He/she will also coordinate all activities relating to the development and execution of sales forecasts, quoting, tradeshows, contracts, sales budget and related processes. This individual will also closely coordinate the sales group efforts with other corporate operationsincluding engineering, program management and manufacturing. This role requires the ability to work in a matrix environment and to operate as a team player. He/she will assess and provide regular feedback and reporting on future opportunities to the corporation as awhole. Lastly, this individual must possess sound business judgment, the ability to achieve goals withminimum supervision and provide leadership that extends beyond his/her direct responsibilities.

The position requires 50% working in the laboratory on system performance evaluation and 50% analysis working with a team of mechanical engineers, optical engineers and software consultants.
Responsibilities of the position include (but are not limited to):
- Optical Design, optical modeling, sensitivity analysis and tolerance analysis in ZEMAX® and other optical design codes
