Optical subsidaries merge as JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc.

MEMS Optical Inc. (Huntsville, AL) and JENOPTIK Polymer Systems, Inc. (Rochester, NY) have merged with JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc. (Jupiter, FL) effective January 4, 2010.  The merged company will create a single corporation for the US based manufacturing operations of JENOPTIK | Optical Systems division.

Custom optics provided for NASA's LOLA

Sister companies JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc. (Jupiter, FL) and MEMS Optical (Huntsville, AL) both supplied optics for NASA’s Lunar Orbiter Laser Altimeter (LOLA).

LOLA is one of the payload instruments aboard NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) launched June 18, 2009.  LOLA’s primary purpose is to provide a precise global lunar topographic model and geodetic grid to aid future missions in selection of landing and exploration sites.

JENOPTIK Optical Systems initiates LEAN Manufacturing

JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc. recently completed the initial Value Stream Mapping phase of an implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles in the Jupiter facility.

The 3 day event utilized eight participants from different areas of the organization to identify the current and desired states of the company and the non-value efforts that reduce efficiency. Value Stream Mapping is the 2nd of four formal phases planned.

Coastal Optical Systems (Jupiter, FL) and Liebmann Optical Company (Easthampton, MA) are pleased to announce effective July 1st, 2009 these JENOPTIK subsidiaries have merged to form JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc.

The strength of the new company (70,000 square feet of optical manufacturing, 100 employees) and breadth of the product offerings elevate JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc. to best in class in North America.
