Coastal Optical Systems, Inc., based in West Palm Beach, FL has collaborated with Electrosonics (www.electrosonic.com) and Kleiser-Walczak (www.kwcc.com) to help bring this Celtic journey to life by creating the custom-made wide angle lenses that project the digital 3-D images. The 3-D effects are second to none and will leave thrill-seekers coming back for more.
Jay Kumler, president of Coastal Optical Systems, is the inventor of the 12-element f/3 projection lens. The first of its kind digital 3D theater uses four projector simultaneously to allow the short throw wide screen venue to produce the realistic feel of the giants and to create a feeling of smallness to the audience. The complete process which includes the design, development and manufacturing took less than four months to complete. Each Coastal Optical Systems lens is produced start to finish at the West Palm Beach facility.
This is certainly not the first time Coastal Optical Systems has been involved in "entertainment" lenses. Corkscrew Hill is the 6th amusement park venue Coastal Optical has built lenses for in the past four years.
