Perkins ReImaging SysteM (PRISM) at Lowell Observatory
The PRISM instrument is the primary optical instrument for the Perkins telescope at Lowell Observatory. It provides imaging, slit and multi-object spectroscopy, and polarimetry in the visible and ultraviolet bands.
JENOPTIK supplies aspheres for the ultraviolet
JENOPTIK Optical Systems, Inc. fabricated optical compnents consisting of:
Fabricated all
- fused silica
- CaF2 and
- I-line glass

Components were
- aspheric and spherical
- up to 206 mm Ø
- For optical band from 320nm – 950nm
PRISM reimages the f/17.5 telescope focus down to a f/6.6 beam yielding a 13.65 arc-minute square field of view.
