OEM partner through product evolution and maturity
From 1999 through 2007 JENOPTIK delivered 3 generations of custom telecentric lens assemblies for an OEM of automated optical inspection (AOI) equipment. The precision lenses were used for detecting defects in printed circuit boards.
As the product became more mature and the optical design progressively became more complex, JENOPTIK worked with our customer to cost effectively deliver more value in the new assemblies.
Technical challenges
The final lens design presented several technical challages including:
- Integrated stepper motors for focus and magnification
- Double telecentric design
Burn-in evaluation of mechanical and electrical performance
JENOPTIK optically tested and performed ATP at our facility including mechanical & electrical burn-in to the customer's requirements.
OEM Serial Production
The final lens was delivered in quantities of up to 200 units per year with >1000 lenses delivered in total.
